Lehigh Hanson Cement was founded in 1887 in the United States as a cement manufacturer. Heidelberg, a German-based multinational cement company, eventually purchased Lehigh Hanson.
Heidelberg also purchased Hanson, a British corporation, in 2007, resulting in the establishment of Lehigh Hanson, which is headquartered in Texas. Lehigh Hanson Cement is the world's fourth largest cement manufacturer, with 79 units worldwide generating 121.11 MT (million tonnes) of cement last year.
Lehigh Hanson Cement is Germany's largest cement business, employing 55,047 people across its facilities. Lehigh Hanson Cement is well known for producing concrete, cement, aggregates, asphalt, and other building materials. Lehigh Hanson owns and operates 19 cement plants in the United States.
