Linode
Linode is a cloud hosting company established in the United States that specializes in Linux-based virtual machines, cloud infrastructure, and managed services. Linode was regarded as ahead of its time with virtual private server (VPS) hosting when it launched in 2003. It had developed over the years into an international organization well-known among developers, hobbyists, and small businesses alike, with over 800,000 clients from 196 countries and data centers in 11 locations worldwide. Linode was previously regarded as one of the largest independent cloud infrastructure providers.
Linode's flagship products were cloud-hosting services with a variety of packages available at various pricing points. Linode provides five types of virtualization-based computing services as of November 2019: high memory requirements, specialized CPU resources, virtual machines with direct access to GPUs, and general-purpose usage. Linode Block Storage enabled users to increase server storage capacity by using network-based storage volumes. Customers could back up their servers on a daily, monthly, or biweekly basis using Linode Backup. Users could control numerous server instances from a single interface with the Linode Manager.
