Liu Yifei
Liu Yifei grew up in Wuhan as the only child in the Liu family. Her dad is An Shaokang, the first secretary in the Chinese-French Embassy, working as a French university professor. Meanwhile, her mom is Liu Xiaoli, a stage performer and dancer from Hubei.
The pair divorced when Liu Yifei was only 10, and ever since, the actress was solely raised by her mom. In that very same year, she picked up her mom's surname and changed her own into "Liu Ximeizi". Aside from her mom, Liu Yifei was also influenced by her godfather, Chen Jinfei, Chairman of Beijing Investment Group.
In 1997, the actress and her mom decided to move to the U.S. She lived in New York City, attending Louis Pasteur Secondary School. Then, five years later (2002), Liu Yifei came back to China to become an actress. Only weeks after her return, Liu got accepted by the Academy of Beijing Film when she was merely 15. The actress graduated in 2007.
Right after her enrollment into the Academy of Beijing Fim, Liu got many offers to participate in TV series. Her very first appearance on TV was in 2003 in a romance drama called "Stories of Noble Families", inspired by a novel with the same title. The movie achieved the best CCTV ratings and great audience reviews, turning Liu Yifei into an A-list star.
