Los Roques

For a diver, diving at Los Roques might be one of the most exciting and unforgettable experiences. Los Roques is a diving paradise, named one of the best in the world for its pure and crystalline waters, and the archipelago's rich variety of marine animals will impress any scuba diver. The coral reefs of Los Roques offer a diverse habitat with temperature changes, small pockets of rough and calm waters, and bright and shaded areas where nutrients are generated in abundance. On your undersea scuba diving excursion, you'll see a fascinating underwater ecosystem of seagrasses as you plunge through the brilliant blue water. Hundreds of fish species, as well as mollusks, turtles, snails, and the queen conch, live in this habitat.

Some fish, such as surgeonfish, angelfish, and spotfin butterflyfish, have adapted to the coral reef specifically. Parrotfish, barracudas, nurse sharks, rays of various sorts, and manta rays will all be feeding on plankton. There are dive sites for divers of all levels, ranging from shallow reefs to steep coral walls, caves, and even some sea whips that descend over 200 feet through a kaleidoscope of tropical species.

The most well-known diving spots include "The Stone of Guaza," a massive mountain at the ocean's bottom with abundant marine life. A wall ranging in height from 3m (10ft) to 61m can be seen in "Tounge of the Ocean" (200ft). Beautiful coral reefs with typical reef fish, lobsters, and more can be found in Boca del Cote. The brightest corals, schools of barracudas, rays, and nurse sharks may all be found at "Boca del Medio." Furthermore, "Dos Mosquises" has beautiful reefs and turtles. There are amazing coral stone formations, canals, shipwrecks, groupers, and rays in the Nordisqui key.
