Ludwig-Maximilians-University (LMU), Germany
Ludwig Maximilian University, usually known as the University of Munich, was established in 1472. It is a public research university with the LERU, Europaeum, and German Excellence Universities. The university was once known as Ingolstadt University.
When it was established, the university consisted of only four faculties, including the Faculty of Jurisprudence, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Medicine, and the Faculty of Philosophy. Initially, the university was built in the Old Academy but later on, in 1826, it was shifted to Ludwigstrabe.
LMU has 51.600 students and 7.757 staff members. Students from countries other than Germany make up 15% of the university's student body. It provides a bachelor's degree program as well as a master's degree program. Diploma and specialist courses are also included in the curriculum.
