Luigi
Luigi is a video game and associated media character created by Nintendo. Luigi is portrayed as Nintendo's mascot Mario's somewhat younger but taller fraternal twin brother, and he appears in several games throughout the Mario franchise, frequently as a sidekick to his brother. Shigeru Miyamoto, a well-known game designer, developed him.
Previously, Mario's green-coded brother was an unimpressive sidekick. Nintendo, on the other hand, has done an outstanding job fleshing out the persona. Luigi, who is fearful and quirky, is satisfied just following his brother around, but when it comes down to it, he always overcomes his concerns to protect what he values. Luigi is shown as Mario's taller, younger brother, and is normally clad in a green shirt, dark blue overalls, and a green hat with a green "L" symbol. Although Luigi, like Mario, is a plumber, other aspects of his personality change from game to game. Luigi always appears frightened and shy, yet he is good-natured and can hold his temper better than his brother. This involves saving Mario on occasion, as seen in Luigi's Mansion for the GameCube. He has risen from his brother's shadow and gotten a spate of standalone games, including the Luigi's Mansion series, New Super Luigi U, and even Dr. Luigi.
First appearance: Mario Bros (1983)
