Manannan Model Boat Festival
The Manannan Model Boat Festival in the Isle of Manis was organized by the Manx Model Boat Club, a hobby group formed in 1985. They arrange a variety of activities throughout the summer months including a range of remote-controlled boats. The Manannan Model Boat Festival is a three-day event, held at different locations.
There are competitions for participants and the event is freely open to the public for observation. The emphasis within this event is on the mutual enjoyment of two pleasures including modeling and boating; and by taking part in Manannan Model Boat Festival, the visitors from all over the world can meet others with similar interests, obtain support and information, make new friends and have some very enjoyable afternoons sailing.
This festival draws the attention of a large number of modelers from most parts of the UK as well as local modelers. A steering competition is held on the first day of this festival, followed by a tug towing competition. Then on the second day, this club organizes an 'On the Water' competition followed by a Static Scale Competition, and finally a fun competition. The event finishes with an evening feast and prize presentation.
