This course has a beautiful design and allows you to switch between literal and understood translations. It color codes words and lexical chunks to correspond with the English translation, which is ideal for visual learners. It's a steal at $7.99 per month.

Linguists create each course individually, which distinguishes Mango Languages from other language apps. This is extremely valuable in and of itself. Rather than learning generic translations, you learn about the cultural aspects of your target language. In the long run, this allows you to speak more naturally and fluently.

Mango Languages provides Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese courses. There are 5 Mandarin units and only 1 Cantonese unit. You'll need to find other apps to learn how to write Chinese characters because neither course teaches you how. The Mandarin course, on the other hand, covers a wide range of topics and can teach you to converse in Mandarin.
