Marlborough College Malaysia is one of the best British schools in Johor-Bahru. It was founded as a logical continuation of one of the best co-educational independent schools in the world. It offers students a modern, demanding, and enriching education that equips them for a global future.
Marlborough College Malaysia is a sister institution of Wiltshire, UK's Marlborough College. It is divided into three sections: a Pre-Preparatory School for kids ages three to eight; a Preparatory School for day and boarding students ages eight to twelve; and a Senior School for students ages thirteen to eighteen.
At the moment, the College has about 750 students enrolled, representing 40 different nationalities. The staff-to-pupil ratio is 1:6. Most of the faculty members have taught at other independent British schools or Marlborough College in the United Kingdom.
The curriculum at Marlborough College Malaysia expands upon the British National Curriculum while still maintaining a good balance between breadth and specialization. All students are meant to be stimulated, challenged, and supported by it.
A full co-curriculum that acknowledges that credentials alone do not produce a well-rounded educated person is created through a wide range of academic extension and enrichment activities, including societies, lectures, theater visits, museum and gallery visits, debates, poetry readings, conferences, and concerts.
The curriculum allows time for extracurricular activities, and occasionally the schedule is changed or suspended to accommodate events and day trips that are particular to a given subject, as well as sporting events.
To provide all students with access to specialized facilities like labs, art studios, computer suites, design technology workshops, and contemporary language spaces, subjects are taught in departmental areas. The Marlborough College Malaysia's central library is home to a collection of fiction that is available for loan by students.
Departments are in charge of developing their specific subject areas, and the curriculum is regularly reviewed to make sure it best meets the needs of all students. Every year, schemes of work are reviewed to make sure that instruction is appropriately focused and that every student, regardless of their unique needs, can advance through the school.
