This car features numerous proprietary developments and technologies. Despite having one more seat than most similar sports cars, it's lighter and more streamlined than many modern sports cars and has a center (and slightly forward) driver's seat for the two-seater that provides excellent visibility to the driver. Compared to the conventional seat, it was intended as an exercise in creating what the designers hope would be considered the ultimate road car. Despite not being designed as a race car, the modified race car won several races, including the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans, and met a specially made racing car prototype. Production started in 1992 and ended in 1998. A total of 106 cars were built with minor design variations.
