Mercy College

At Mercy College, students can earn a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Technology. They are accredited by AVMACVTEA (operating since 1989) and are one of the few accreditation programs to offer a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology. The school also scored high on the VTNE exam. They have two external studies that students complete in the fourth year of the program. Exam I - 360 hours of general practice with small animals; Extension II is available 360 hours in a specialized or specialty hospital, zoo, aquarium, or research center.

Mercy College has a global veterinary experience course where they take a group of 10 international students to volunteer to wildlife and livestock health services in underserved areas. Some courses in the Veterinary Technology program are embedded in the mainstream of animal biology. The program stands out for its high standards of non-examination and commitment to education.
