Veterinary courses have been among major faculties at Michigan State University since its establishment in 1855. The College of Veterinary Medicine was officially established in 1910 as a four-year degree program.
Today, the university has four biomedical science departments: Microbiology and Molecular Genetics. pathobiology and diagnostic research, pharmacology and toxicology, physiology; Two clinical departments - Large Animal Clinical Sciences and Small Animal Clinical Sciences; Two service departments: a veterinary medical center and a veterinary diagnostic laboratory; and several research centers.
In addition to the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine program, Michigan State University offers certificate and bachelor's degree programs and continuing education programs (Master's and Doctoral) in Veterinary Nursing. Currently, the university is considered one of the best veterinary schools in the world. Universities are generally affordable and have very high acceptance rates.
