Mobile Passport is a US Customs and Border Protection-approved software that allows you to move through long immigration queues at your own leisure. It allows anybody with a U.S. or Canadian passport to use the app to manage their passports and customs declarations, eliminating the need for paper documentation and allowing for faster processing at certain of the busiest US airports that offer the Mobile Passport service.
Although the app will save you a lot of time in line, there's no reason to leave your physical passport at home. Mobile Passport is now an add-on app, not a replacement.
