Mopang was a cargo ship of the Sub Boats type (EFC Design 1023) built by the Submarine Boat Co shipyard in Newark, New Jersey in 1920. After hitting a mine at the port of Burgas, near St.Ivan island, the ship sank on June 30, 1921. Now it is one of the Best Spots to Dive in Bulgaria.
The Mopang is an American cargo steamship that lies between 22 and 32 meters on its starboard side. Apart from the bow section, which absorbed the brunt of an explosion, the wreck is in excellent condition. The cargo of footwear and replacement parts may be seen in the hold, and certified divers can enter some of the cabins. The superstructure of the ship reaches 10 meters above the seabed.
