Museo Ixchel del Traje Indigena (Museum of Mayan Costumes)
A museum in Guatemala City is called the Ixchel Museum of Indigenous Textiles and Costumes. The museum studies Guatemalan dress customs throughout the nation and also houses noteworthy collections of literature, ceramics, textiles, and jewelry. The museum's holdings include ceremonial garments, handwoven textiles, and apparel such as huipil. Textiles from the pre-Columbian era were not saved, but there are displays of ceramics, Mayan ruins, and other antiquities. The Spanish colonial era and modern times are depicted in the textiles, materials, colors, and techniques.
