The protagonist of the novel is a young woman named Kang Mi Rae who has plastic surgery to improve her appearance and boost her self-confidence. Mi Rae has experienced self-esteem and confidence issues as a result of being teased for her appearance throughout her life. She does, however, look completely different when she goes to college following her plastic surgery. Mi Rae still has difficulty adjusting to her new life and overcoming biases and expectations related to beauty standards despite her physical transformation.
