The James Beard Award-winning chef-owner Joanne Chang offers a variety of Chinese, Taiwanese, Thai, and Vietnamese delicacies at this trendy South End jewel. Fall-off-the-bone tea-smoked spare ribs, braised pork belly buns, and smoked chicken wings with maple, miso, and cashews are some of the menu's highlights. Particularly on Mondays and Tuesdays when a "cheap date night" prix fixe meal for two is only $45, the lively, cozy location is excellent for dating night. Additionally noteworthy about the restaurant is its provision of vegetarian, gluten-free, and nut-free meals.
Although Boston's Flour bakery's award-winning and well-liked chef Joanne Chang is perhaps best known for her sticky buns, there is much more to her skill set. Chang made Christopher Myers, a renowned restaurant, Taiwanese food every night for dinner when they were married. The pair quickly discovered that no one in Boston was offering food like this in a hip but welcoming restaurant setting.
