MySafetiPin App

Safetipin is a data-driven technology platform that makes public spaces safer and more inclusive for women and other marginalized groups. Data is gathered based on nine factors and shared with appropriate parties to effect change on the ground. The My Safetipin app is free software that allows users to express their feelings of safety in a city and utilize the app's data to make better mobility decisions.

The only app on this list that allows users to contribute to the general safety of their communities is MySafetiPin App. Unlike the other applications on our list that provide emergency safety capabilities, MySafetiPin App allows users to undertake safety audits for sites in their communities. When doing an audit, the app asks you to score the place on nine criteria: illumination, openness, visibility, people, security, walkability, proximity to public transportation, gender ratio, and your own sense of safety. The software also has some basic personal safety features, such as location sharing and the ability to discover the safest path to your destination based on data from the app.
