Watch Over Me

Watch Over Me is a personal safety app that tracks your whereabouts using GPS for a set period of time. If you do not check-in securely by the end of the chosen period, the app automatically sends a message to your emergency contacts, including a map of your position.

Watch Over Me uses GPS to track the user's whereabouts for a certain duration of time. The free version of Watch Over Me currently sends an e-mail notification to the emergency contacts listed by the user if the user has not checked in safely after the specified period has expired, whereas the paid version of the app (subscription model of USD $1.99 monthly) sends a text message directly to the emergency contacts' phones.

The software also has an emergency alert feature, which is activated when the phone is shaken hard, triggering the camera to capture what is going on around it. The Watch Over Me team has also included geographical crime information taken from official and Internet sources, so that users may receive a push notice warning them to be cautious anytime they reach a high-crime zone in particular cities. The program also crowdsources crime data, allowing users to flag areas and define the sort of crime that happened there.
