Napier Quarter, Fitzroy

Napier Quarter is the next Fitzroy location on the list. Napier Quarter, unlike Marion and Bar Liberty, is not located on the main street, but rather on a backstreet corner in Fitzroy, not far from the soon-to-open Veriu Collingwood hotel.

Napier Quarter, which bills itself as an "espresso and wine bar," is unique in that it runs as a café during the day and then changes into a wine bar in the evening after the coffee machine is turned off. From 9 a.m. until midday, they serve a continental breakfast with artisan espresso, then switch to sharing plates and wine. Its Espresso & Wine Bar serves thoughtful fare, unique wines, and traditional espresso. It works on a walk-in basis due to the size and the nature of the offering, with reservations limited to intimate groups of 4–6 persons. Parties of this size are sent to the Chef's Table, which features a simple, shareable menu created by Eileen Horsnell.
