New River Gorge National River

The New River Gorge National Park and Preserve is a unit of the United States National Park Service dedicated to the preservation and protection of the New River Gorge in southern West Virginia's Appalachian Mountains. The park is rich in cultural and ecological history, and it provides several scenic and recreational opportunities. The New River begins in North Carolina and flows north through Virginia into the West Virginia highlands, where it joins the Kanawha River, which flows to the Ohio River.
