New South China Mall – 7.09 million sq ft

South China Mall in Dongguan, China will become the world's second-largest shopping center after Iran Mall in 2021. These include musical fountains, food courts, mosques and hotels.

South China Mall opened in 2005 and has been almost empty for over 10 years and has few registered merchants. According to a 2015 CNN article, the mall is still largely empty, but has begun to attract tenants after major renovations and renovations.

Another article published in January 2018 reported that after over a decade of high occupancy, most retail spaces were almost full and the mall had IMAX-style cinemas and theme parks.
