Ngor Island
Ngor is an arrondissement commune in the city of Dakar, Senegal. It has a population of 17,383 people in 2013. There is the westernmost point of the African continent. Ngor, together with Yoff, Hann, and Ouakam, is one of the four original Lebou communities of the Cap-Vert Peninsula.
Ngor Island is a tranquil retreat away from Dakar's hectic metropolitan life. It is a tranquil island with beautiful buildings. Nice views from Ngor to the mainland, lively waterfront eateries, some decent artisan stores, and an overall enjoyable trip. The neighborhood includes magnificent beaches that are ideal for surfing, as well as lively waterfront eateries and numerous fine artisan stores. The short boat journey over is very enjoyable. The island is clean, everyone is nice, and it is a pleasure to visit. Everyone provides excellent seafood and steaks.
