Niamey Grand Mosque
The first position on the list of the most beautiful historical sites in Niger is the Grand Mosque of Niamey. It is a mosque located in the capital Niamey of the Republic of Niger. It is one of the largest mosques in the city, located along the Avenue of Islam and it is one of the most famous landmarks of the city.
The mosque was built in the 1970s with financial support from the Libyan government and with the support of the late Libyan leader Gadaffi. He built the most impressive, and most famous, structure in the capital, Niamey.
Fridays, it is the busiest church day of the week, because then the main prayer service for the locals is taking place. Others, including non-Muslims, it is allowed to go inside and take a look at it. There is a guide that will greet you and take you around for a small fee to be decided by you.
