NPR
This public radio network of the United States is called National Public Radio (NPR). NPR, headquartered in Washington, D.C., provides hundreds of local public radio stations with a wide range of high-quality news and cultural programming. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), which was established in 1970 by the 1967 Public Broadcasting Act, found NPR to offer to program to the nation's noncommercial and educational radio stations, the majority of which were located near the bottom of the FM radio dial.
Every day, NPR engages millions of Americans in conversations about the news, ideas, and what it means to be human on the air, online, and in person. NPR tells local stories across the country through its network of member stations.
