This beach, which has been up and running since November 2008, following the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States, is becoming increasingly popular and draws a throng every weekend.

Obama Beach is located in Cotonou. It is extremely wide and long, so you will have enough space to lie down and sunbathe, relax, play sports, dine, and do whatever you want, except for bathing in the sea, which is prohibited owing to the dangerous nature of its waves. However, you can observe the surroundings and enjoy your stay because it is a really beautiful beach; you can also share with the residents and learn more about their culture.
