On is an athletic shoe and performance sportswear company originating in Switzerland that designs and markets sports clothing and running shoes. On was formed in 2010 by Olivier Bernhard, a world duathlon champion who intended to design a shoe fit for runners that would make them as exhausted as possible throughout the race. Thus, together with Bernhard's pals David Allemann and Caspar Coppetti, the founder resigned from contests and started the firm in Zurich, Switzerland.
