Ottogi’s Chaehwang Ramen
Ottogi, the best vegan instant ramen brands in Korea, invented this self-proclaimed "emperor" of vegetable ramen. The brand is well-known among the general public for its diverse product line, which includes curry, sauces, and even frozen pizza. In fact, Ottogi is one of the country's top food producers, with foreign operations in China, Vietnam, and the United States.
So far, the Chaehwang ramen is the sole vegan option in the instant noodles department, while their cheese "bokki" ramen is also appropriate for vegetarians. The veggie soup has a nutritious blend of ten vegetables: mushroom, radish, onion, garlic, cabbage, bok choy, carrot, green onion, pepper, and ginger.
Besides vegetable extract, the soup base contains shiitake mushroom and miso, which make it rich in protein. Similar to Nongshim’s Soon Ramyun, this product is also registered with the Vegan Society. On the other hand, it is currently sold only as bag noodles and a cup packaging is still yet to be developed.
Jin Ramen is a popular choice in Korea and is enjoyed by people of all ages. It is often eaten as a quick and easy meal, especially among college students and busy professionals. It is also a versatile dish that can be customized to your liking by adding different ingredients or adjusting the level of spiciness.
