Paternoster Beach

Paternoster Beach is a stretch of beautiful white beach bordered by jagged rocks and charming whitewashed homes. The town, known as one of the first fishing villages along South Africa's West Coast, has evolved to become a popular tourist attraction.

Paternoster Beach's appealing aspect makes it excellent for long walks over soft sand where, if you arrive during the correct season, you can catch a glimpse of the spectacular whales and dolphins that pass by - and occasionally penguins as well!

Local fishermen can be seen leaving in their colorful boats early in the morning to capture crayfish, which can be purchased fresh from shacks along the shore. With a climate similar to that of the Mediterranean, the high offshore winds make for ideal conditions for watersports such as kayaking and kitesurfing. This laid-back fishing village is a pleasant location that blooms with the stunning wildflowers that the West Coast is known for.
