Santos Beach, Mossel Bay

Traveling through the notoriously gorgeous Garden Route will show several stunning beaches, but Santos Beach in Mossel Bay is a particularly lovely place to spend time. The progressively sloping sand and small waves make it ideal for families with young children; throughout the summer months, families disperse across the sand enjoying picnics and barbecues.

Participate in watersports such as paddle skiing, surfing, and angling. Snorkeling in the pristine water to see the variety of colorful fish is popular here. Discover rock pools teeming with marine riches such as oysters. Stay till the sunset and take shots of the yachts silhouetted against the darkness of the sky.

Enjoy seafood at one of the many restaurants at the back of the beach and browse the stores in Mossel Bay Harbor for souvenirs. From this port, you can take a boat trip to nearby Seal Island. Thousands of Cape Fur seals live on the islet.
