Lake Pátzcuaro is a body of water in the Mexican state of Michoacán's Pátzcuaro municipality. The lake is located in an endorheic basin, which has no sea drainage. The lake has a watershed area of 929 square kilometers, of which 126.4 are water bodies. The Lake Pátzcuaro watershed stretches 33 kilometers north to south and 50 kilometers east to west. Lake Pátzcuaro lies at an elevation of 1,920 metres, is the centre of the basin, and is surrounded by volcanic mountains with very steep slopes. It has an average depth of 5 metres and a maximum of 11.

One of Mexico's most well-known lakes is this one. The big volcano is surrounded by numerous little islands and has shallow basins. Fishing and other aquatic pursuits provide the island's residents with a living. In this lake, you can catch a variety of fish, including trout, Pátzcuaro chub, Black sea bass, Chirostoma attenuatum, Common carp, perch, and whitefish. The Lake also advertises cruises and a few other water taxi services to take tourists around the neighboring islands and cities.
