Along the border between Texas and Mexico, there lies a man-made lake called Falcon Lake. The primary supply of water for agriculture and the production of hydroelectricity in the city is this Lake, which was constructed in 1954. The lake is located close to the Ontario border on the Trans-Canada Highway about 152 kilometers east of Winnipeg.

Pierre Falcon, a Métis poet, and musician has the lake given his name (1793–1876). Lake Bacalar (or Laguna Bacalar), one of the most beautiful lakes in Mexico, is a long, narrow lake in the state of Quintana Roo, Mexico near Mexico's border with Belize. It is approximately 42 km long measured from north to south and less than 2 km at its widest. The lake is renowned for its striking blue color and water clarity, partly the result of having a white limestone bottom. Like most bodies of water in the Yucatán peninsula, the lake is fed by underground rivers, whose regular open pools are cenotes. Because of the porous limestone, the Yucatán Peninsula has almost no lakes, this is by far the largest and fed by the 450 km underground river that is part of the world's largest water cave/tunnel system, paralleling the coast.

The stromatolites, which resemble cauliflowers and are only still found in a small number of areas worldwide, are the oldest life on Earth and are abundant in this region. Bacalar, which has a population of 11,084, is a village on the western coast of the lake.

Laguna Bacalar Lake's official name translates to "Lake of Seven Colors." Tropical birds and coconut trees are all around this lake. Numerous exotic orchids will be floating in the lake, too. Lake Pátzcuaro is a body of water in the Mexican state of Michoacán's Pátzcuaro municipality. The lake is located in an endorheic basin, which has no sea drainage.
