Pindul Cave
Pindul Cave is a karst cave with an underground river located around 7 kilometers south of Wonosari, Gunung Kidul. Wading through a river in a canoe or kayak is a typical occurrence, but if the stream is located inside a cave, it will undoubtedly be a rewarding though challenging experience. Pindul is a cave that is part of a group of seven caves with an underground river flowing through them. It is located in the village of Bejiharjo, Karangmojo, and it gives the impression of being on a journey. Visitors will be welcomed to accompany the river in the darkness of the planet's innards with a 300-meter length utilizing lifebelts for a 45- to 60-minute trek. This is a chore that combines physical body rafting with caving, and is later referred to as cave tubes.
The name of Pindul cave and likewise the other caves in Bejiharjo could not be separated from the story of Joko Singlulung's trek to find his father, as told by the indigenous people and passed down orally from generation to generation. Joko Singlulung got interested in the give in Bejiharjo after exploring the deep woodlands, mountains, and streams. When he entered the cave, he twisted the rock to ensure that the place was named Pindul, which is a Javanese abbreviated form of pipi gebendul.
