Rapid City

The second-largest city in South Dakota was established on the banks of Rapid Creek in 1876 as a result of the discovery of gold in the neighboring Black Hills. It offers top-notch dining establishments, and a stroll down Art Alley is a must to see the graffiti, paintings, and poems there.

Due to its magnificent collection of life-sized sculptures of every former president of the United States, Rapid City is also known as the "City of Presidents." Rapid City is close to several natural wonders because of the proximity of Custer State Park and Wind Cave National Park.
