Reanimation
Reanimation is the first remix album by the American rock band Linkin Park, and it was released on July 30, 2002, by Warner Bros. It was recorded during the Hybrid Theory tour and includes remixes of songs from the album, as well as bonus tracks. Mike Shinoda produced it, and Mark "Spike" Stent mixed it. The standard edition of Reanimation came in a digipak case with 20 tracks. "Buy Myself" was included as a bonus track on the Japanese edition. In addition to "Buy Myself", the iTunes release included live recordings of "One Step Closer" and "My December", which were originally released as B-sides for "Faint" and "Somewhere I Belong" respectively.
Critics had mixed feelings about Reanimation. It helped many underground hip-hop artists reach a wider audience while also significantly changing the nature of the work (restructuring songs, adding or substantially changing verses, and adding several guest artists) that it could be considered an entirely new album. Metacritic gave the album a score of 60 out of 100. The album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 and remained on the chart for 33 weeks. It sold 270,000 copies in its first week and nearly two million in total. It went on to become the fourth most successful remix album of all time.
