Richard Taittinger Gallery

Located on 154 Ludlow Street, the Richard Taittinger Gallery is a 5,445 sq.ft space that introduces the Chelsea gallery atmosphere to the upcoming artistic scene of the Lower East Side. The gallery is conceivably divided into three different types of exhibition spaces: a 22 ft high ceiling space at the front of the gallery, introduced to the visitor right after he passes the threshold, a smaller exhibition space that hosts the reception area in the middle of the gallery and a 13 ft high ceiling space that is illuminated with natural light from a skylight at the back of the gallery.

In addition to the exhibition spaces on the ground floor, the gallery has a private viewing room, storage space for inventory in the cellar, and offices for the owner, director, and staff in the mezzanine. The transparent glass storefront makes it visible from the street and is accessible, promoting continuous communication between the inside and outside. This design, which serves as a vitrine, enables the gallery to display its artwork in the neighborhood even when it is closed.
