Whitney Museum of American Art

One of the first museums in New York City was the Whitney Museum. This museum/art gallery has received praise both domestically and abroad for its accurate portrayal of America and its amazing history. Whitney should be included on your list if you are organizing a patriotic art tour.

The Meatpacking district is home to the magnificent gallery. Beautiful architectural design was done by Renzo Piano. A whopping 50,000 square feet make up the enormous art gallery. The indoor space is 13000 square feet larger than the outdoor space. Because of this, the Whitney is one of New York City's largest art museums. You can enjoy the stunning view of the city and the Hudson River through the glass windows.

The narrative started when a stunning but inquisitive sculptor named Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney realized that there are many talented soulful artists in America who aren't given the proper platform to showcase their abilities. Thus, Whitney took the initiative to open an art studio in her honor back in 1914.

The Whitney Museum currently houses an estimated 24000 works of art, which were donated by close to 3500 art enthusiasts. The Whitney has the privilege of displaying works of art from the 20th and 21st centuries that allude. These creations include modern paintings, priceless collections, breathtaking works of architecture, and media created with the aid of photography and video art.
