Rockley/Accra Beach

Rockley Beach, commonly known as Accra Beach, is picture-perfect. It is a little crescent of sugary white sand bordered by casuarina and sea grape plants, with warm shallow seas in the deepest blue that are appropriate for swimmers of all abilities. The southern end of the beach is ideal for younger children since it has a pool-like region shielded by rocks that break the force of the waves. The pleasure of boogie boarding on the crested waves awaits older children. You can relax on a chaise lounge or on the fine white sand under the shade of a casuarina or sea-grape tree, or participate in one of the various watersports activities offered from the beach, such as windsurfing, Hobie Cat rides, and body surfing or shop the colorful kiosks for tropical apparel, jewelry, and handicrafts. Alternatively, visit one of the little restaurant kiosks for a cool Banks Beer or some wonderful fishcakes, a Bajan delicacy! Tiki Bar at the southern end of the island is a fantastic place to grab a bite to eat.

A bustling retail area with kiosks selling food and cold beverages is located just back from the beach. Rentable boogie boards and surfboards are available, as are Hobie Cats and Sunfish monohulled sailboats for people with sailing skills.

The famed Barbados Boardwalk begins at one end of the beach (the flat end at the kiosks) and takes you down the waterfront through expensive waterfront restaurants and, farther along, fast-food restaurants.
