Saint-Tropez
Soak a day excursion to the resort town of Saint-Tropez to view the entire French Riviera and take in the Provençal-style beach splendour. Even during the busy summer months, Saint-Tropez, which was once just a little fishing village, retains its alluring small-town atmosphere while becoming a chic resort town.
The Place des Lices, a beautiful shaded area, is located at the center of the Old Town (La Ponche), which is a maze of pedestrian-only lanes dotted with shops. Shopping at authentic outdoor markets, relaxing on café terraces, and watching the elderly men of the neighborhood play pétanque are all things to do in this area (a French game similar to Italian bocce ball).
Among Saint-other Tropez's must-see attractions are the Musée de l'Annonciade, which houses an excellent collection of Impressionist art, and the evocative Vieux Port (Old Port), where the harbor is lined with café terraces and where local artists sell vibrant paintings that feature scenes from Saint-Tropez.
Saint-Tropez is about a two-hour drive from Monaco (depending on traffic). Given the distance, booking a guided trip like the Saint-Tropez Day Trip from Monaco is the most convenient way to travel there.
