Sanganeb Reef
Sanganeb Reef is the next name on the list of the best dive sites in Sudan that Toplist has compiled for you. The sight of an impressive erection in the form of a grey stone British-built lighthouse greets you as you approach this dive site. Sanganeb Reef, which rises 800 meters below sea level, is a hotspot for nutrient-rich upwellings that attract all kinds of marine life from the surrounding area. This 12 sq km reef's southwest plateau is particularly good.
Large schools of barracuda, jacks, mackerel, and snappers can all be seen on a regular basis at Sanganeb Reef. Whitetip and grey reef sharks are common sightings, and hammerhead sharks can be found in deeper waters if you are lucky. Back on the reef, the walls and plateaus are coral health models. Hundreds of anthias and fairy basslets are colorfully fluttering here and there, covering the vibrant and robust table and soft corals. Long-nosed hawkfish can be found in abundance on black corals.
