  1. Angarosh is the first name on the list of the best dive sites in Sudan that Toplist would like to share with you. Deep diving is popular among experienced divers at Angarosh, which is located 12 kilometers east of Mukawwar Island. Hammerhead sharks, tiger sharks, silvertip sharks, and grey reef sharks are all common sightings. Schools of fish, as well as beautiful soft corals and an abundance of reef fish, can all be found here.

Angarosh is also a location with impressive visibility, with an average of 25 meters. Additionally, due to the often strong currents, Angarosh offers good schooling action for barracuda, bluefin tuna, and yellowfin trevally. When visiting the schools, the often excellent visibility allows for some fantastic photography. On this dive, which combines depth, big fish action, and a pretty picturesque reef all in one, beautiful soft corals, anemones, and innumerable reef fish will keep you occupied until the end of your safety stop.

  2. Cousteau's Conshelf, the next name on the list of the best dive sites in Sudan, is one of Sudan's most well-known dive sites. In 1963, this was the site of Jacques Cousteau's Conshelf II experiment. The rest of the dome is still 9 meters deep just south of the reef's west passage. Only experienced wreck divers should explore the structure's confined spaces. A beautiful coral garden surrounds you, with plenty of soft corals and reef fish. Grey reef sharks, silky sharks, and silvertip sharks are among the shark species. This is one of the best places to see hammerhead sharks from November to April.

Divers can enter the submarine hangar, which is now mostly flooded and filled with small fish darting around the portholes. If you do decide to swim inside, make your way to the top-there is an air bubble trapped there that you can poke your head into! Once you do, the sound of other divers' bubbles and fish clicking is surprisingly loud.

  3. Sanganeb Reef is the next name on the list of the best dive sites in Sudan that Toplist has compiled for you. The sight of an impressive erection in the form of a grey stone British-built lighthouse greets you as you approach this dive site. Sanganeb Reef, which rises 800 meters below sea level, is a hotspot for nutrient-rich upwellings that attract all kinds of marine life from the surrounding area. This 12 sq km reef's southwest plateau is particularly good.

Large schools of barracuda, jacks, mackerel, and snappers can all be seen on a regular basis at Sanganeb Reef. Whitetip and grey reef sharks are common sightings, and hammerhead sharks can be found in deeper waters if you are lucky. Back on the reef, the walls and plateaus are coral health models. Hundreds of anthias and fairy basslets are colorfully fluttering here and there, covering the vibrant and robust table and soft corals. Long-nosed hawkfish can be found in abundance on black corals.

  4. The Toyota Wreck (Blue Belt Wreck) is the next name on the list of the best dive sites in Sudan that Toplist would like to introduce to you. This cargo ship sank in 1977, carrying a cargo of cars, trucks, tractors, and spare parts, hence the name "automotive".

The Blue Belt is now upside down on a 30° slope, and you can enter it through a large opening in the hull at 36m and work your way up the inside to the bow. In any case, it is the cargo, not the ship, that distinguishes this dive site. You can see the trucks and cars being consumed by the sea as you walk around the edge of the wreckage site. Some resemble living, thriving reefs, with only a jutting tyre or sponge-encrusted steering wheel revealing their manufactured nature. A reef area to the north of the wreck has spectacular table coral formations. Mantas and Napoleon wrasses have been spotted here on occasion.

  5. The Umbria Wreck is the next name on the list of the best dive sites that Toplist has compiled for you. The "Umbria" is one of the world's most famous sunken ships. It is one of the crown jewels of Sudanese diving. The Umbria is shallow by most wreck divers' standards, with a maximum depth of 36 meters. Scuba divers will benefit from the extended bottom time available on the ship's shallower sections, while snorkelers will be able to explore much of the wreck's upper area. Cleaner shrimps, a large school of snappers, spiny fish, butterflyfish, and barracuda are among the marine life that can be seen there.

This site is rightfully regarded as one of the best wreck dives in the world, as well as one of the crown jewels of Sudan scuba diving. Wreck divers with more experience can explore the entire ship, including the engine room and bakery. The Umbria Wreck is a fascinating and beautiful experience for divers of all levels.
