Sesame Place & Busch Gardens
Sesame Street was a staple of most people's childhoods. As a result, Sesame Place is a must-see attraction for anybody with children. Aside from having life-sized Sesame Street characters wandering around the streets, giving out hugs and good cheer to stunned and utterly ecstatic children, the amusement park is out of this world.
Sesame Place, for example, features acres of family-friendly rides and attractions, including roller coasters, cloud chasers, flying machines, and the ever-popular Mini-Monster Clubhouse, a big soft play area for tiny tykes. There are also fantastic water slides, such as Big Bird's Rambling River and Ernie's Waterworks, that kids will love every minute they spend there. That's before you get to the live entertainment, art exhibitions, and, of course, the Sesame Street gang march.
Busch Gardens, in collaboration with Sesame Place, is an enhanced version that appeals to the adventurous and fun-loving hearts of children of all ages, even after they've outgrown SP. BG has offices in Tampa, Florida, and Williamsburg, Virginia. While you're in the area, you should also go to Gettysburg to experience a live reenactment on the actual battlefield. If you enjoy historical vacations, make sure to visit Colonial Williamsburg, which is only a few hours away.
