In 1999, Seth McFarlane's "Family Guy" premiered on Fox. He inked a $100 million agreement with the network less than ten years later, in 2008. That was about 12 years ago, and the show had made $1 billion in total sales.

McFarlane struck a multi-year, $200 million contract with NBCUniversal in 2020 to create new TV projects for the network. At the same time, "Family Guy" will continue to air on Fox, which means he'll continue to be paid by the network.

Not to mention his other works, such as the "Ted" movies and "The Orwell," which have a cult following among science fiction lovers.
