She battles postpartum depression
After giving birth to her twins, Vivienne and Knox, in 2008, Angelina Jolie reportedly struggled with postpartum depression. She was reportedly staying indoors in Provence, France with her children who were said to have an ailment called colic, which "causes repeated periods of intense and inconsolable sobbing," according to a report by The Evening Standard. The actress frequently stayed up late caring for the twins since she was so concerned for their wellbeing.
Their state reportedly took a toll on Jolie, who frequently stayed in bed, slept whenever she could, and tried to control her feelings, according to an unnamed insider. She has little energy and struggles to remember to eat because she is still nursing, the insider continued. Additionally, it was believed that Jolie was upset with her then-husband, actor Brad Pitt. The source explained how Jolie felt and said, "He had the kids without the pain of birth, and he can just jet off whenever he feels like it." Per NBC News, Jolie was exhausted while looking after six kids and was also recuperating after her C-section delivery.
