The narrative centers on a little kid named Denny who lives in a society where people are subjected to rule by an advanced race of creatures known as "Demons." Denny goes off on a mission for vengeance after witnessing the murder of his family, armed with a potent shotgun that was given to him by his father.

Denny must negotiate intricate political and social dynamics as he journeys across the perilous Demon World, coming into contact with a variety of allies and foes along the way.
