Siberian Iris

When someone mentions "iris," most of you will think of a large bearded flower soaring above saber-shaped leaves. Yes, we bet you will be thinking of the popular spring/summer garden star, the braided iris (Iris germanica). However, the Siberian iris - an altogether different bloom, is also worthy of your consideration! Siberian Iris is easier to cultivate than Iris germanica and requires very little care. It is admired by people from many countries for its beautiful, all-year-round blossoms and grass-like leaves.

The Siberian Iris typically grows between 2 and 4 feet tall. Siberian is resistant to wind, rain, and frost, and it produces beautiful cut flowers! Every seasoned gardener wants to have this lovely flower for their garden. Indeed, one mature plant of Siberian Iris may put out more than twenty flower stalks simultaneously throughout 12 months (especially in spring and summer). You cannot ask for something more than this!

Aside from spacious gardens, the Siberian Iris can also thrive in small corners. Its good companion plants include pinks, phlox, peonies, lupines, daisies, and aquilegia.
