Simon Cowell
Simon Phillip Cowell is an English television personality, entrepreneur, and record executive who was born on October 7, 1959. He has judged on the British talent shows Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor UK (2004–2010, 2014–2018), and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), as well as the American talent shows American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor US (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the sole owner and creator of Syco, a British entertainment corporation.
As a television music and talent show judge, Cowell is known for making frank and provocative remarks about competitors and their singing ability, including insults and wisecracks. He works in both the television and the music businesses. Cowell has produced and marketed hit songs and albums for a number of recording artists that he has signed and mentored. Westlife, One Direction, PrettyMuch, and CNCO are among the successful boybands he has signed.
