Sixty Hotels
Sixty hotels ranks 7th in the list of the best boutique Hotels In Soho, New York City. This five-star boutique hotel is located in the upscale Soho neighborhood of Lower Manhattan and provides a peaceful haven just a short distance from the busy shopping districts around Prince Street and Broadway, which are home to many designer stores like Louis Vuitton, Christian Dior, Burberry, and Stella McCartney. The distance to the closest subway stop, Canal Street, is five minutes on foot.
With a recent complete makeover, this former Thompson hotel has returned under the Sixty Hotels banner. Designer Tara Bernerd's new look is contemporary and chic while still having a cozy vibe. An intimate lounge area with a fireplace and bookcases of art, fashion, travel, and design publications can be found just inside the ground floor entrance (mostly from Taschen). The first floor lobby looks and feels like a cozy living room or study with small sofas, lamps, and more books because it has picture windows that are framed by thick curtains. Oak wood flooring, cowhide rugs, furniture made from tree branches, and plants that are housed in glass are examples of fashionable accents.
The 97 rooms feature a simple color scheme of black, white, and grey, as well as stylish yet contemporary accents like a buttoned blue velvet sofa, a marble bathroom wall, metal-studded bed cushions, and leather headboards. Harland Miller, a British artist, has also contributed pieces. There was not enough closet space, an iPod charger, or a coffee or tea maker. Suites feature floor-to-ceiling sliding windows and private balconies with views of the Freedom Tower and Empire State Building.
