Skydio 2+
Six 200-degree color cameras are equipped with this Skydio 2+ drone. This means Skydio 2+ could see everything in all directions, which eliminates the possibility of a collision. Whether you are trailing a snowboarder down a pine-covered mountain - or navigating down a path following a cyclist - this quadcopter is a luxury for pilots who have to fly in difficult terrain. Even better, Skydio 2+ is capable of shooting 4K video and 12MP still photos.
The Skydio 2+ is a step up from Skydio's previous model, the Skydio 2. Among the most significant upgrades over the basic Skydio 2 are a 20% increase in battery life; a 20% increase in range when the Beacon is added; and a nifty AI video production tool called Keyframe.
Only one other commercial drone on the marketplace - the DJI Mavic 3 - comes close to the 360° obstacle avoidance capabilities of this Skydio 2+. All in all, DJI Mavic 3 is also a wonderful choice for adventure sports photographers, with the exception of one factor: the cost. If you are just capturing action sports (and hence do not need a high-quality camera or intend to utilize the zoom), then the Skydio 2+ arguably offers better value for money.
