Somali National Institution is a public university located in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital. The university's campus was four kilometers from Mogadishu International Airport (Aden Adde International Airport). It was founded in 1971, but it was "officially" established in 1954. It was decommissioned in 1990. The university reopened in August 2014 after being closed for several years. In primary and secondary schools, Somali became the language of instruction.
